Victoria Jubilee Museum The museum has put on display ancient paintings, idols, weapons, and inscriptions recovered from various parts of Andhra Pradesh. t is located in the Krishna district, about 275 km from the state capital Hyderabad. Sprawled over an area of 58 sq. km, the city is also called Bezawada. Even after the passage of more than one century since it was established, the museum continues to attract and awe visitors with its varied and unique collection of arts and artifacts.
The Museum of the Archaeological Department situated on Bandar Road contains beautiful sculptures and attractive paintings worth seeing. It comprises beautiful sculptures, attractive paintings, idols, weapons, cutlery and inscriptions that date back to the 1st and 2nd centuries. This Victoria Jubilee Museum is located on Bundar Road in Vijayawada. It also exhibits pre-historic stone tools, coins, arms, metal works, Neolithic and Microlithic implements. An idol of Lord Shiva, beautifully sculptured and believed to belong to the 4th and 5th centuries is another attraction. The museum is open between 11 am - 1 pm and 2 - 6 pm in summers and 10 am - 1 pm and 2 - 5 pm in winters. |
