Pakhal lake The lakeside is one of the best picnic spots in Andhra Pradesh. Phakal is situaled about 50 kms east of Warangal and it is well connected by road passing through the east while taluk headquarter of Narsampet which about 12 kms away. It is situated amidst undulating forestland hills and dales and because of its quite and peaceful atmosphere it attracts tourists in large numbers. The sanctuary is home to the Tiger, Leopard, Panther and Sambhar. Besides a large number of migratory birds arrive in winter at the lake, making it the best season to visit the sanctuary.
The Lake is built amidst undulated hilly terrains and lush green dense forests. Panoramic view of the lake and its surroundings is mesmerizing. The lake was constructed from the waters of one of the tributaries of the Krishna River. Pakhal wildlife Sanctuary covering an area of 90 acresaround the lake. Its dense forest shelter tiger, leopard animals and a wide of birds. The Pakhal Wild Life Sanctuary is set around the shores of this lake with an area of 839-sq-km. This huge manmade lake is encompassed by forested hills and is also a paradise for bird watchers. The lake also surrounds a wild life sanctuary called Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary spreading an area of 900 kms. Moonlit nights on the shores of this lake are simply heavenly. Situated about 50 km from Warangal, this huge manmade lake is enveloped by forested hills. |
