Legislative
Assembly
|
It was built out of funds
raised by citizens of Old Hyderabad State, on occasion of
the 40th birthday of Nizam Mehboob Ali Khan in 1905.
The architecture is a synthesis of Rajasthani and Persian
styles, with an all white, aesthetic look. A 22 feet tall
bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi, in a meditating position,
stands on a 6 feet pedestal in the Assembly building
precincts. The words 'My Life is My Message' are etched on
the pedestal. |

|
The House sits for nearly sixty
days in a year on an average. There are 18 Committees in the
Assembly. Situated on the left of the road leading to
Lakdi-Ka-Pul from the Public Garden, a massive statue of
Mahatma Ghandhi in a sitting position greets visitors at the
entrance. Now it houses the 295 seat Andhra Pradesh
Legislative Asseembly.
|
The term of the House
is five years, unless sooner dissolved. Located
adjoining the picturesque Public Gardens, a massive
statue of Mahatma Gandhi in a sitting posture is
erected at the entrance park to the Assembly. The
term of the House is five years, unless sooner
dissolved. Normally, three sessions of the Assembly
the Budget, the Monsoon and the Winter Sessions are
held in a year. |
